Road Ramblings

This month we share Road Ritings of the current TOUR...repeat the Prayerful Plea of the former issue...share a BIO on Amy...plus more!!!

Have you added the Johnson Family to your Prayer List??? They seek Prayers of "Blood Covering" for protection and that SOULS will be Won!!!.

In my 50-plus years of spreading the Gospel of Salvation thru Song, I have not come across any group that is any more sincere, or who has more of a hunger to see Souls Won than the members of the Johnson Family!!!

TOUR Report on New Van

The Ford Maxi-Van that God provided to JFM has proven to be adequate to every task!!!
During the current multi-State TOUR it has climbed over mountains and sailed across valleys with percision and ease.

Before embarking on the trip Papa and Grandpa Johnson fitted the van with two cab-over carry-alls, which have proven to be invaluable. With 6 Ladies on board (including family friend Feather) one can imagine the amount of clothing and personal items needed...NOT all of which would have ever fit into the trailer...which was already full of a Sound System / CD Product / Stage Outfits / and so much more.

Another addition to the van was a "bunk bed" which fits over the seats... allowing all members to sleep in basic comfort as the driver goes down the road. This setup also allows overnight stops at WalMart (when needed), which helps the travel expenses.

The arrangement will work fine until the day the Lord provides the Toy Hauler, which will add more space; an area for dressing; and a kitchen to accommodate those long cross-the-countryside journeys.

SHORT JOTTINGS FROM THE ROAD

While JFM is "out there singing" Richard and I stay in touch thru the medium of email. I am enclosing a portion of such an email as a "Praise Report", and to remind everyone to PRAY EVERY DAY for each member of JFM!!!

Richard wrote:
We have had quite a run East. I don't have the energy to tell the whole story right now but it's been amazing...and interesting.
A few highlights...
>>>finished our "Reflections" CD project at the Hoppers studio.
>>>Phil Cross offered to introduce us to Bill Gaither.
>>>Phil Cross introduced us to Chris White of Crossroads Music.
>>>Had breakfast with Chris White.
>>>Les Butler (Singing News) requested our promo kit. Said he's been hearing about us from everywhere ... but had never heard our music.
>>>Singing News wants us to sell subscriptions and magazines at our product table.
>>>Claude (Hopper) is introducing us to the Red Deer, Canada Convention promoter.
>>>Have met MANY wonderful people on the journey!
>>>Spent a delightful night in the home of Brandon and Crysta Beene on our way into Virginia (while they were on the road). A huge blessing.

We are feeling the call of God on our lives for Revival and the Lord is starting to move in our hearts. We want to experience all that God has for us and be all that He wants us to be. There is much soul searching going on. We had a great time of devotion and prayer this morning, and we feel like we are on the verge of a breakthrough. Pray, brother!!!

ROYL CD Seeing Strong Sales !!!

"THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE" CD made its' debut at Save Mart Center in Fresno on Thursday, April 19th ... and since that day the sales of this "second CD" of JFM have run right alongside the record pace set by their "first CD" last year!!!
Fans across several States have expressed their pleasure in the selections, all of which were written by members of the Family except the final cut, which is a "Johnsonized" version of the timeless classic penned by Albert Brumley: "I'll Fly Away".
This one song alone is well worth the purchase price of the album, but then I would be slighting the title cut and my personal favorite: "Royalty In Disguise".

To hear "clips" of ROYL one may go to the JFM MySpace "link" given in an article below.

DO YOU HAVE THE CD JFM MADE BEFORE THEY RECORDED "WALK ON" ???

For two years before JFM went into the studio to record their first "Professional CD" they distributed a CD of their songs at all of their concerts. I say "distributed" because they did not sell these albums ... they GAVE them away!!!

For several months I have been trying to get Richard to agree to reproduce that CD and make it available ... and I think I am about to succeed!!!
There is a bunch of "good tunes" on the album and I feel that each of you who follow JFM will be interested in hearing them from "The Early Days" ... am I right???

If you are interested please email JFM and say: "Please make The Early Days CD".

(Editor's Note) With permission from JFM and in response to what I know God has laid on my heart...I am running the following article almost exactly as it appeared in the last edition of the JFM newsletter!

God often uses Man to answer Prayer!!!

The picture above is of Richard holding one of the TWO Rainsong Guitars provided by the Rainsong Guitar Company along with an Artists' Endorsement!!! This was accomplished thru PRAYER!!!
For quite some time there were folks who "lifted up this need' to the Heavenlies...asking the Lord to supply the finances to buy a guitar. And tho a guitar of this calibur was far above what the prayer asked for...God chose to ABUNDANTLY SUPPLY!!!

Several weeks ago I shared with Richard that the Lord had "laid on my heart" to come before our readers and extend a loving request that each of you PRAY about becoming what I like to refer to as a "Human Raven".
When God met the needs of Elijah he did so by using a lowly creature we know as a Raven. Today, those who are "carrying the message" are the Johnson Family, and like Elijah of old...they have a need. I'm asking that each of you PRAY and ask the Lord if He would have you be a "Human Raven"...to help meet the need of His Servants The Johnson Family!!!

After 32 years of Ministry I can say that I do know when the Lord lays something on my heart...and I know this request letting "the need" be known is in His Will. Nevertheless I can say that getting what the need was out of Richard was like pulling teeth!!! The man is so humble that he did NOT want to "tell his need" to anyone but the Lord.

After prayer on both sides of this matter I have obtained an answer of what "the greatest needs" are. I offer them to you in the order I received them from "Papa Johnson"...asking that you go to Prayer and ask what the Lord may have you do as a "Human Raven" to help meet these needs:

1) Larger trailer (small toy hauler) for long tours. This would give us plenty of space for "cargo"; would also serve as a pre-concert "dressing room"; and could help save a lot of $$$ to be spent on Hotel Rooms.
2) Sound System for long tours.
PRAISE GOD FOR ANSWERED PRAYER!!! The Lord provided a fine Sound System that has truly been a blessing during the current TOUR!!! Thanks so much to CHURCH (fill this in Richard)
3) In-vehicle internet access so the girls can study on long tours. This would change "empty drive time" into much-needed Study Time, and would free up hours now spent for study and allow us more "Practice Time" for Ministry preparations.

As the JFM Chaplain I Prayerfully ask each of you to consider this request. I am aware that many are financially unable to give, but I also know that most everyone could help with at least a $25 gift, while others could make their gift $1,000 ~ $5,000 ~ even $10,000!!!
I learned a LONG time ago that Good Seed grow the best when planted in Good Soil. I am confident that the Soil of the JFM Minsitry is GOOD Soil...and that whatever size of Seed you sow there will reap a Good Harvest in the Kingdom of the Lord!!!

MORE ABOUT THE JOHNSONS

Each edition of the JFM Newsletter will feature a different member of the Family in this article.
It is being included so you can become better acquainted with each individual member of the family, and in doing so that you will be more apt to remember them in Prayer!

THIS EDITION we will feature ~~~ AMY JOHNSON

Born: January 9th, 1987 in Auburn , CA
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Scripture: Ephesians 6:10-20. This portion of scripture is special to me because of challenges that I have faced in my lifetime. I find it an encouragement, and an amazing exortatation that convicts!
Favorite Sport to Play: I don't think I could narrow it down to just one. I would have to say it's a tie between soccer and football, I love them both!
Favorite Sport to Watch: I don't really have the patience to actually sit down and watch someone else play the sport that I love, I would much rather be out there playing it myself.
Favorite Hobbies: Dirtbike and motorcycle riding, gardening, sewing, and playing sports.
Favorite Ethnic Food: Indian
Favorite Southern Gospel Artist: The Isaacs
Favorite Contemporary Gospel Artist: Casting Crowns
Favorite National Ministry: I would have to say CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship). I have been involved in this ministry for 7 years. It reaches and touches the unsaved and saved children. It is truly an amazing ministry!
When I grow up I wanna be just like: Jesus! I would have to say that my second choice would be a dear friend of ours, Mrs. Paula Johnson. She has been a true example of what a godly wife, a mother, and friend should be. She is an amazing woman!
